UNION Minister for Education Dr Chaw Chaw Sein received Mr Bounphieng Chanthavong, Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to Myanmar, at the reception hall of the Ministry of Education in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
The meeting of the Committee for implementing Literacy Program for Rural and Ethnic Population was held at the meeting hall of Office No. 13, the Ministry of Education, Nay Pyi Taw, this afternoon.
The Deputy Ministers for Education Dr Zaw Myint and U Nay Myo Hlaing, accompanied by officials, concerned separately inspected basic education schools in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, this morning.

During the meeting, the Union Minister emphasized the need to create a supportive and engaging learning environment in order to increase students’ attendance at universities and degree colleges.
A meeting to discuss the organization of the University of Yangon Science Fair was held this afternoon at the Arts Hall of the University of Yangon. Present on the occasion were Deputy Minister U Nay Myo Hlaing, Director Generals, and Deputy Director Generals. The Rector of the University of Yangon, Pro-Rectors, Professors (Heads of Departments), and other officials concerned also attended the meeting.

A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Education Dr Chaw Chaw Sein is attending the UNESCO-organized International High-Level Officials’ Conference on “Current Trends in Inclusive Education”, held in Moscow, the Russian Federation, from 10 to 13 December.
