The Deputy Minister for Education U Nay Myo Hlaing, accompanied by the Kayah State Minister for Natural Resources, directors-general and responsible officials, visited No. 3 Basic Education High School and No. 2 Basic Education High School in Loikaw Township, Kayah State this morning and observed that students sat year-end examinations for Grade 5 (primary school level) and Grade 9 (lower secondary school level) for the 2025-2026 academic year peacefully.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister instructed chief invigilators, deputy chief invigilators and assistant invigilators to make the necessary arrangements to ensure that students could sit for the examinations peacefully, and to follow examination procedures. He also called for the timely completion of ongoing construction of school buildings within the timeframe in line with designated standards, and coordinated the provision of necessary requirements.
Afterwards, the Deputy Minister visited a study group at No. 2 Basic Education High School aimed at improving the pass rate of 2026 Matriculation Examination. He met with the students and encouraged them to strive for success in the matriculation examination with strong determination and perseverance.
He then met cordially with the Rector, Pro-Rectors, professors and teaching staff at Loikaw University, inspected the progress of renovation works of university buildings, and provided financial assistance to the Rector and teaching staff.
The Deputy Minister continued his visit by meeting with the Principal, teachers, and trainees at Kayah Thazin Hall of Loikaw Education Degree College. He also met with officials from the Department of Higher Education and the Department of Teacher Education, the State Education Officer, District and Township Education Officers, principals of basic education high, middle and primary schools, and staff at Pyinnyar Beikman Hall of the Kayah State Education Office.
During the meeting, he discussed and provided guidance on the effective implementation of teaching, learning and administrative matters in the education sector. The Deputy Minister and responsible officials also responded to the questions asked by attendees and coordinated the fulfilment of requirements.
