The Union Minister for Education Dr Chaw Chaw Sein, together with Deputy Minister Dr Zaw Myint, directors-general and officials, visited and inspected Meiktila Education Degree College this morning.
First, the Principal of Meiktila Education Degree College explained the teaching and management activities in the three-storeyed main building of Education Degree College and the plans for the future.
Then, the Union Minister and the Deputy Minister inspected the classrooms, auditorium and theatres in the three-storeyed main building and encouraged them to focus on improving the quality of teaching and management and to fulfill the needs. The Union Minister presented the honourium to the Principal of the Meiktila Education Degree College.
Then, they visited Meiktila University of Economics and inspected the main building, convocation hall, library and campus of Meiktila University of Economics and made necessary recommendations.
The Union Minister then visited Mandalay Education Degree College, where the Principal explained the current situation of renovation being carried out to upgrade Mandalay Education Degree College to a university, the classrooms to be renovated, the location to be built, and master plan for the building. The Union Minister and the Deputy Minister gave the instructions for future process.
Then, she toured Mandalay Education Degree College’s classrooms, staff housing, main hall, football stadium, gymnasium, sports field, and the land where the student dormitory will be expanded.
Afterwards, the Union Minister met with teachers and trainees in the dining hall and urged would-be teachers to work hard from now on to truly master the subjects they will teach. Only then will they be able to nurture and produce a new generation of educated people who will be resource persons for the country. She presented the financial support to the principals and officials for Mandalay Education Degree College, which was received by the principal and officials.
Next, she visited Mandalay University and inspected the five-storeyed academic building that had been completely renovated after the earthquake. The officials explained its current situation and the Union Minister gave instructions on what was needed.
Afterwards, they toured the University of Mandalay and visited the temporary office of Bamaw University, which is located within the university, where they met and encouraged the teachers and staff. During the meeting, the Union Minister urged that they should turn the difficulties and challenges during the temporary period into opportunities and said. The Ministry of Education would provide the necessary support, they are teaching professionals and need to continuously study and do research on their subjects, work in accordance with the time they have. She added that, they need to serve the state faithfully as they are civil servants. Finally, the Minister gave them financial support.
