The Union Minister for Education Dr Chaw Chaw Sein, together with the Deputy Minister Dr Zaw Myint, Minister for Economic Affairs of Ayeyarwady Region, and responsible officials, visited Hinthada University in Hinthada Township this morning. At the university, they met with the Rector, Pro-Rectors, professors, lectuers, and staff.
During the meeting, the Union Minister noted that teachers are implementing student-centered teaching methodologies in alignment with the changing modern education system. She emphasized that the process of writing research papers is significantly facilitated when teaching is interconnected with research.
She highlighted that Hinthada University offers two distinctive majors – Fisheries and Aquaculture, and Agricultural Chemistry – and the State is also prioritizing agriculture and livestock development. Therefore, it is crucial for teachers in these fields to connect their pedagogical practices with research activities. She also encouraged teachers to explore the use of AI technology in teaching, so that curricula can be effectively adapted to the country’s circumstances and student’s needs. Furthermore, she stated that students should be guided to use AI technology systematically when selecting research project topics.
Afterwards, the Deputy Minister explained the support to meet the needs of Hinthada University in the 2026-2027 fiscal year.
Subsequently, the Rector presented plans for upgrading the university’s football field, and the Union Minister coordinated and gradually arranged the necessary assistance.
Then the Union Minister, the Deputy Minister, and responsible officials proceeded to Basic Education High School Kanaung, in Myanaung District, Ayeyarwady Region, where they met Grade-12 students and gave words of encouragement. During meeting with the headmaster, teachers, local residents, and parents, the Union Minister stated that the visit was intended to support students in sitting their examinations smoothly and to help raise the Grade-12 pass rate. She assured that the ministry would provide necessary assistance to meet the school’s needs and handed over grant funds to the headmaster.
Finally, the Union Minister, the Deputy Minister and responsible officials inspected classrooms and the school compound at No. 2 Basic Education High School, Myanaung.
