The Deputy Minister for Education U Nay Myo Hlaing, accompanied by Shan State Minister for Social Affairs U Min Min Lwin and responsible officials, visited schools in Taunggyi this morning, and inspected the Basic Education Primary School Level (Grade 5) and Basic Education Middle School Level (Grade 9) students taking the year-end examination for 2025-2026 academic year.
The Deputy Minister firstly visited No. 2, 4, 6, 7 and 5 Basic Education High Schools where students were peacefully sitting their English subject examination on the second day. He encouraged them and instructed officials to administer the exam in line with rules and regulations, strive for the successful completion of the examination, and ensure no unexcused absences and provided the requirements.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, it is reported that a total of 53440 students from Basic Education Schools, Monastic Schools, and Private Schools sat the Grade 5 examination, while 4608 students sat the Grade 9 examination in Shan State (South).
Afterwards, the Deputy Minister observed students’ taking English speaking tests. He inspected the ongoing construction of school buildings and classrooms, and instructed to complete on time in accordance with standards. He also inspected university entrance road and drain construction in Taunggyi University.
