A coordination meeting for teaching of industrial, agricultural, and livestock subjects was held at the meeting hall, office No.13 the Ministry of Education in Nay Pyi Taw this morning.
The meeting was attended by U Min Naung, the Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Dr Chaw Chaw Sein, the Union Minister for Education, Dr Myo Thein Kyaw , the Union Minister for Science and Technology, the Deputy Ministers Dr Zaw Myint and U Nay Myo Hlaing, directors-general, deputy directors-general, responsible officials, and invited guests.
First, the Union Minister for Education Dr Chaw Chaw Sein stated that the Grade-12 curriculum for the upcoming academic year would need to be revised through discussions and coordination among the ministries. She explained that the National Curriculum Committee under the Ministry of Education would be reformed, with a deputy minister acting as chairman. She further noted that, in addition to experts from the Ministry of Education, specialists in industry, agriculture, and livestock sectors would also be included as committee members in order to develop a more effective curriculum.
In accordance with the guidance of the Head of State, industrial, agricultural, and livestock subjects are to be introduced at the lower-secondary school level. Therefore, discussions were encouraged to ensure that these subjects can be incorporated into lower-secondary school education beginning in June 2026, including the timely development of curricula, eascade courses for teacher training, and the allocation of training hours.
Afterwards, the Union Minister U Min Naung discussed matters related to the teaching of agricultural and livestock subjects, while the Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Kyaw discussed issues about teaching industrial subjects.
Subsequently, the Deputy Ministers Dr Zaw Myint and U Nay Myo Hlaing discussed on the implementation of industrial, agricultural, and livestock subjects at the lower-secondary school level, as well as matters for ensuring the smooth and successful administration of examinations.
After that, the directors-general and officials from the participating ministries reported on the progress made in implementing decisions from the first meeting and discussed future tasks to be carried out. The Union Ministers coordinated and addressed the necessary matters.
In the concluding remark, the Union Minister for Education expressed confidence that the upcoming Grade-12 examinations, including those for basic education high schools and industrial, agricultural, and livestock high schools, would be conducted smoothly and successfully through collective cooperation.
