Opening Ceremony of Discussion and Training on Examination Regulations for Chief Invigilators, Deputy Chief Invigilators, Assistant Chief Invigilators, and Candidates for the 2026 and Industrial, Agricultural and Livestock Matriculation Examination

The opening ceremony of discussion and training on examination regulations for Chief Invigilators, Deputy Chief Invigilators, Assistant Chief Invigilators, and candidates for the 2026 Matriculation Examination and Industrial, Agricultural and Livestock Matriculation Examination was held this morning at Thiri Mingala Hall of No. (6) Basic Education High School, Zabuthiri Township, Naypyitaw.

 

Present at the meeting were Union Minister for Education Dr Chaw Chaw Sein, Deputy Ministers Dr Zaw Myint and U Nay Myo Hlaing, Director Generals, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Director Generals, and Chief Invigilators, Deputy Chief Invigilators, Assistant Chief Invigilators, and responsible officials from regions and states who will oversee the 2026 Matriculation Examinations.

 

First and foremost, the Union Minister said that the headmasters attending the training would play a key role in successfully conducting the important matriculation examinations. She noted that the matriculation examination serves as a gateway for the students to various educational opportunities and future pathways. Therefore, she stressed that the examinations must be fair, systematic and conducted accordance to strict rules and regulations, while also ensuring a stress-free and safe environment for the students sitting the examinations. She added that every examination centre supervised by the invigilators must strictly follow the established procedures.

 

Regarding the Industrial, Agricultural and Livestock Matriculation Examination, she reminded that in addition to written subjects, the examination includes subjects such as drawing, which require special materials like drawing desks and drawing papers, and therefore, it is important to make more detailed preparations of teaching aids, seating arrangements and time management. She also emphasised the importance of taking full responsibility and accountability throughout the examination period to prevent any misfortunes from happening, strict protection of question paper security, and the need to supervise the examinations impartially. She then presented financial support for the invigilators’ training, which was received by the secretary of the training organising committee.

 

Afterwards, the Deputy Director Generals and Directors delivered lectures on exam-related procedures including arrangements of examination tasks, compilation of candidate lists, designation of examination centres, appointment of invigilators (Chapter 1, 2, 3), instructions related to examination question papers during the examination period (Chapter 4), duties and responsibilities of Chief Invigilators, Deputy Chief Invigilators, Assistant Invigilators, and office teams (Chapter 5), rules and penalties for candidates (Chapter 6), and invigilation allowances and administrative expenditures (Chapter 7).

 

The discussion and training programme will be held from 17th January to 18th January, with a total of 341 Chief Invigilators, Deputy Chief Invigilators, and Assistant Invigilators from regions and states in attendance.
