The 2025-2026 Academic Year, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory Education Fair was held this morning at the No. 1 Basic Education High School, Zeyar Thiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw.
The ceremony was attended by the Union Minister for Education Dr Chaw Chaw Sein, Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council U Than Tun Oo and council members, Deputy Ministers Dr Zaw Myint and U Nay Myo Hlaing, Director Generals, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Director Generals, Regional, District, and Township Education Officers, officials concerned, teachers, award-winning students, and parents.
First, the Union Minister, Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, Deputy Ministers Dr Zaw Myint and U Nay Myo Hlaing, and Nay Pyi Taw Council Member U Myint Soe opened the entrance arch to the education fair by cutting the ribbon and observed student performances presented by different townships.
After that, the second part of the ceremony continued and students from No. 1 BEHS, Zeyar Thiri Township opened the ceremony with the song called “Happy Education Fair.”
Next, the Union Minister stated that the free education system is being implemented for all the school-age children to have the access for education and remain in school at least until KG + 9, and an inclusive education system is being conducted for all citizens to complete basic education. She also stated that for people who completed middle school education, 89 industrial-agricultural-livestock high schools are opened to create job opportunities, and to have the chances for them to pursue industrial, agricultural, livestock and vocational subjects.
The Union Minister further said that the new basic education curriculum is leading to the qualified education system, and the standards are set for the students to develop not only their knowledge but also problem-solving skills, appreciation of cultural values, good morality, responsibility, creativity, and critical thinking skills, and to become well-rounded citizens possessing the five strengths. She also said that teachers, parents, and people related to education are necessary to work in hands to nurture educated human resources that the nation relies on and to cultivate good attitudes, discipline, and respect for the nation and its people.
Afterwards, the Union Minister awarded certificates of honour to the third-place national winner of the 2025 Matriculation Examination and to the gold medal winner in Sepak Takraw competition at the 14th ASEAN Schools Games 2025. After that, the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council gave a speech and awarded certificates of honour to three winners of the Region-level Grade-9 English Skills Competition.
Next, Deputy Ministers Dr Zaw Myint and U Nay Myo Hlaing, and Nay Pyi Taw Council Member U Myint Soe awarded to winners of the Region-level English and Mathematics Skills Competitions.
Then, Director Generals and officials concerned awarded to winners of essay and poetry competitions held for middle and high school students in honour of World Teachers’ Day, winners of essay competition held for high school students in honour of World Tourism Day, winners of National ICT Awards 2025 (Educational Project and Skills Competition), winners of essay competition held for high school students and poetry competition held for middle school students in honour of the 105th National Victory Day, and outstanding winners of shooting competition from the Civil Service Academy (Upper Myanmar), Batch 112.
Later, students from schools in the eight townships within the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area performed songs and entertainment. The Union Minister and Deputy Ministers presented honoraria to the performers and observed the education galleries displayed by each township.
