The Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein met with rectors, principals, pro-rectors, and professors from universities and degree colleges at Office No. 13, the Ministry of Education, Nay Pyi Taw, this afternoon. During the meeting, the Union Minister emphasized the need to create a supportive and engaging learning environment in order to increase students’ attendance at universities and degree colleges.
Present at the meeting were the Deputy Ministers Dr. Zaw Myint and U Nay Myo Hlaing, Director Generals, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, and Deputy Director Generals. The rectors, principals, pro-rectors, and professors from universities and degree colleges joined via online.
In addition, the Union Minister also urged teachers need to supervise to reduce absence rates, cooperate the students’ regular attendance and building a positive academic environment, systematically operate final year students’ project papers, recognize the essence of university life and participation in sports and participate for holding the Science Fair successfully at the University of Yangon, encourage students to do practically and display interesting things at the exhibitions of Science Fair.
She urged to make necessary arrangements to successfully hold the 25th Arts and Sciences Research Conference, prepare the traditional food festival and a food competition for designated from universities and degree colleges. She said that it is necessary to systematically organize and provide (Job Ready Skills). She urged to cooperate the civil servants and families so that they can vote comfortably in the upcoming multi-party democratic general elections. She also called on who can respect and observe our three main national causes and truly serve the interests of the region and the country to be systematically selected when voting.
Then, the Deputy Ministers called for the implementation of Project-based Learning in universities and degree colleges, the use of libraries, Internet and Online Libraries for final year students in their project work, the provision of sports fields and gyms for students in schools, the cleanliness of university campuses, garbage removal, drug prevention and fire prevention. The discussions were participated by the rectors, principals, pro-rectors and professors.
